We returned to the same hotel for one night, years after our previous stay. The welcome was warm and the service friendly, thank you. It’s somewhere we’d be glad to visit again.

The reception staff were friendly and helpful, and there was parking, including an adjacent lot when the main spaces filled up in the evenings. It’s a seven-minute walk from the Side military camp, with a pool and sunbeds. The room had a balcony, fridge, air conditioning, hairdryer, and plenty of outlets, and Migros is nearby. We stayed six nights in August in a standard room, and the furnishings were extremely old. The towel rails and shower heads came off more than once, the bathroom was tiny, and there were no hand towels, so we had to use body towels to dry our hands. The toilet smelled of sewage, had stains from previous guests, and there were old yellow marks under the shower. You have to ask reception to have the room cleaned. The cleaning wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t enough, with dust under the beds. There’s no elevator in the second block. Would I stay again? I doubt it. Maybe investment wasn’t made because they assumed visitors use the camp, but there aren’t showers there, and families with children return to the hotel early. My standards are low and I’ve stayed in plenty of two-star hotels, but this place urgently needs renovation, especially a complete bathroom overhaul.
