Ağa Konağı

The main reason I loved the hotel was meeting Ömer. He was so handsome. The employees were warm-hearted, and my room was clean and spacious, though I didn't get to see the other rooms. This was my first time in Mardin, and I chose this hotel for an 8-day stay. I loved Mardin, especially the hotel. This vacation was one of my best, and I'll visit Mardin again next year. Thanks for everything.

Everything went smoothly, the staff were very friendly, and the rooms were clean. The food was delicious, too. For this price, it's one of the best hotels I've stayed in. I'd recommend Aga Konagi if you want somewhere that feels like a second home while visiting this beautiful town.

It takes a few steps to reach this lovely old mansion in Mardin's old town, but the view from the roof terrace makes every step worthwhile. The staff were helpful, especially Hasan, who went out of his way to make sure we had everything we needed.

We booked five nights with breakfast, but no breakfast was offered when we checked out, while the staff insisted on charging 500 Turkish Lira for five instant coffees at 100 lira each. We hadn't been told coffee at breakfast would cost extra, and the staff estimated that we'd had five cups. During our five days, nobody entered to clean, take out the rubbish, replace bin bags, or change towels. There were no dry towels at the hotel when we arrived around 5 p.m. on the first day. The room we got didn't match the one shown on Agoda. Staff blamed the platform, though I'm not sure that's right since hosts can set prices whenever they want. The manager did discount the price, and we eventually got the room we wanted. Only one staff member spoke English, a boy we met on the first day. The Konak is also near the far end of the main street, with many stairs to climb. Navigation said we could reach it by car, but that's absolutely not true. This was my fourth time in Mardin, and I'm quite experienced. I'm fluent in English and Turkish. If I return, I definitely won't stay here again. In my opinion, this isn't a proper way to develop tourism.
