The room was dirty: skid marks from poo in the toilet, fresh yellow phlegm in the sink, and worst of all, dirty sheets. The rooms smelled of cigarettes and sewage, as if the pipes needed draining or clearing. I told the front desk guy about the sheets, and he started shouting because he was the only one on shift and didn't know whether they had clean ones to replace them. He did offer to move us to another room, but it was 1am and I had three unpacked suitcases. Packing them while so tired didn't seem like a good option. After we went back and forth, he told me to return to the room and wait. About 10 minutes later, he showed up with fresh sheets, which I put on myself. Breakfast was gross, and the air quality in the area was really bad. My wife has asthma and was struggling to breathe. The street cats were sneezing a lot too, poor things. The mini fridges throughout the hotel are also broken, and a quick look at other reviews suggests that's been true for a while. The only redeeming feature was the on-site gym, which is really good if you're into that. It seems to be a separate business that hotel guests can use. Overall, the hotel smells, the rooms are dirty, and the night manager is shouty. One tall worker did help when he could, and I can't fault him.

The breakfast had a good range of buffet options, and the pool was a clean, relaxing place to unwind. We also found the staff friendly, and check-in was easy. Our room was spotless, smelled fresh, and the whole place felt peaceful. Free secure parking was really convenient, and there was a bus nearby for getting to the old town. There was a gym too. One thing left us puzzled: we were first told the hotel was full because of Bayram, but not long after we left, we heard a room had become available, even later that evening. It didn’t look close to full to us. Still, it was a welcoming place and a good choice for our stay.

The team were kind and tried hard to help, though they seemed short-staffed. Our rooms were nice and clean, but the bathroom looked as if it had only had a very quick clean. There was hair on the floor and it didn’t feel hygienic. We were disappointed by breakfast too. Most of it didn’t seem fresh, so we stuck to bread and cheese, which looked like the safest choices. At the restaurant, the meatballs we ordered smelled so bad that we sent them back. They didn’t charge us, but the plate was quietly taken away without an apology. The next day, my brother and my middle child had diarrhoea. The hotel is quite far from Mardin, which may be why the price is lower. It could work if you just need somewhere to sleep for a night, but it’s probably not a good fit if you want to experience the city and stay close to it.

The gym and indoor pool were top-notch. I’ve never had a hotel gym this good. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet was just right for me. Great value for money 👍

The room smelled of mold and sewage, and the pool wasn’t well ventilated. It also alternated between men and women on different days. We were charged an extra 700 liras on the night we arrived for asking for two separate beds, even though we’d requested them at check-in. None of the corridors had cooling devices. At breakfast, the coffee machine wasn’t working, and the tea had been left unprepared.
