Ada-art Guesthouse

If a calm break with art activities sounds good, Ada Art is a lovely fit. Christina and Mehmet welcome you warmly whenever you return, with little treats and refreshments that make the place feel like home. They’re a wonderful couple, sincere, natural, hospitable, and artistic, and they put on great workshops at the Ada Art guesthouse. They care about recycling and living ecologically in harmony with nature. It’s bed and breakfast, with a shared kitchen and fridge, so you can buy groceries and sort out what you need yourself. For kids, it depends on the child. The beach isn’t all sand, but children can still get to the water easily. There’s no amusement park or other organized activities, though there are playrooms, water toys and equipment, books, and things like rock painting. A child who enjoys quieter activities should have plenty to do. You can get to the island by sea bus or ferry from Balıkesir. Minibuses make it possible to get around, and you can also bring a car.

We chose Ada-Art for a two-day stay in July with my 2-year-old daughter, and knew right away it was the right call. Mehmet Bey and his wife were so friendly and helpful that I never felt like I was away from home. Everything was very clean, the breakfasts were filling, and their hospitality was impeccable. They looked after our daughter as thoughtfully as they did my wife and me, even setting up a separate room for her so she could enjoy herself. Marmara Island was a first for us, and we were very happy with the visit. It’s a quiet place that works really well for family time and relaxing. I definitely recommend it :)

After a rough and hectic stretch this year, we needed a breather and went to Ada Art. It felt familiar from the moment we arrived, like somewhere we’d always hoped to visit. Christina and Mehmet, the owners, were sweet, friendly, and easy to talk to, and we felt right at home in the house opening onto that lovely garden and the sea. Take the path through the olive trees down to the water. We visited in a windy season and still had no regrets. I only wish we’d stayed longer. We’ll be back, and we’d recommend it to everyone.
