Blue Palace Apart Hotel

The location in the city center was good, and breakfast was tasty. The linen wasn’t very clean, though, and Wi-Fi, TV, air conditioning and a fridge all cost extra.

The location is handy for the beach, but that was about the only upside for me. The hotel felt dingy and dated, the lobby toilet had no light and wasn’t clean, and my room looked poorly maintained. The shower itself worked well, and the mini fridge came in handy, but there was only a soap dispenser by the sink, no body gel in the shower. The sheet was rough and itchy, and the only cover was a worn blanket that bothered my skin too. I asked for a top sheet three times and finally got one the next day. The towels were poor quality, though the room cleaners did a good job. The transfer was a mess. My flight took 3.5 hours, and I was on the coach by 10:30 pm, but it didn’t leave until nearly midnight. The drive took 1 hour 45 minutes. The driver was looking at paperwork and using his phone while driving on the motorway, which was disgraceful and unprofessional. At 2 am we were dropped on the main road and told to walk about 300 yards up a dark road. The hotel manager was there and seemed surprised we hadn’t been brought to the hotel. Breakfast was basic, with little hot food. Coffee was okay. The dining area was worn and grubby, and staff spoke little English. The people serving food wore gloves and hairnets but were in their own clothes, which didn’t feel hygienic. The pool was okay, though damaged tiles around it made the area uninviting. Nights were extremely noisy, partly because a generator kept switching on and off every 30 minutes, and some guests shouted and argued until 3 am. The deputy manager spent most of the time I saw her eating at the desk, watching her phone and playing with her hair. She wasn’t helpful to me and spoke very little English. This was well below the standard of any hotel I’ve stayed in. It might suit drunk, rowdy people who don’t consider others. The reviews I read were completely misleading, and I’d never recommend it.

I’ve been coming back for years, ever since my first trip to Marmaris. The staff are so welcoming and lovely, and they go out of their way to help. They’ve become like family to me and my best friend. The rooms are basic, but have what you need and are clean. The cleaning ladies are wonderful too. Food is good, drinks are strong, and the pool is lovely. It’s around a 10-minute walk to the beach and seafront, and about 35-40 minutes to the marina or Bar Street.

Just got back after 8 nights. The staff were amazing, so welcoming and caring, and the food and entertainment were really good. I’m already missing everyone, Ella ozzy jimmy jo and all the other staff. Thanks for such a lovely experience. Can’t wait to book again next year, and stay longer this time.
