For a family of four with teenage kids, it was unpleasant to have a Turkish waiter, sorry, entertainer gyrating his hips and waiting on my wife and young daughter. Around the pool, cleanliness was poor, with glasses, cups, and broken glass or thick plastic left about. There was no lifeguard on duty, and people were allowed to get away with outrageous behaviour. Room cleaning was hit or miss, sometimes good, other times it looked like nothing had been done. Everyone seemed quick to leave tip envelopes. Treat us with respect and service, and we’ll spend our money. The safe is a metal lockbox system at reception, where the master key is left hanging up. We used it and our belongings were safe, though there had been lots of thefts from other guests’ rooms. Air conditioning, the safe and internet all cost extra. We managed without the air conditioning because of the weather, but the windows couldn’t be opened for fresh air until the music stopped around 1 am. The internet wasn’t expensive, but it was poor. I’d get a free Wi-Fi code from one of the bars in or around the hotel instead, where the signal was better. It’s about a 25-minute walk to BLUEPORT, which was a nice area for shopping. We took a scenic route to avoid the crazies on the main strip, where men from every bar and restaurant hassle you. Taxis were about 300 Turkish. The nightlife seemed to kick off around 8:30 pm, with loud, in-your-face chaos. Golden Orange, sorry, we won’t be back. Some staff were very nice, while others need to understand their customers better and improve their service. The MOROCCAN waiter was the best, a real “GOLDEN boy” in my opinion. And for a three-star hotel, who gave it that rating, a blind man with a dog? Crazy.
