Joya Del Mar Hotel

The staff made this stay especially memorable. Gizem and Emre at reception were so polite and helpful, and after a small request was missed on our first day, the team responded with thoughtful gestures that really moved us. Some staff speak limited English, but their warmth comes through clearly. We’re here for 10 days with our closest friends, celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary. We’ve traveled widely, and Hotel Joya Del Mar has quickly become one of our favorite places. Our sea-view room is right by the beach, with a comfortable king-size bed and the sound of the water nearby. The food is a highlight too. It’s all-inclusive, with impressive variety and quality, especially the flavorful Turkish dishes. The small beach is lovely for relaxing. A nearby yacht club partly blocks the view, though that’s common in Marmaris, Turkey, the yacht capital of Turkey, and it doesn’t spoil the stay. We’re grateful for the experience and hope to return. We’ll recommend Hotel Joya Del Mar to our friends.

The beach is lovely and peaceful, and the area is a calm alternative to Marmaris port. I’d happily come back. The restaurant is quite refined, with moderate prices. If you’ve spent a few hundred euros to come here and expect a kebab for a few euros, you may be looking in the wrong place. Drinks, especially wine, are the one part that felt relatively expensive. I haven’t stayed at the hotel, so I can’t comment on its conditions.

The staff were friendly and patient with our kids, and the manager listened to our needs. The women who cleaned our rooms were especially lovely. The rooms were clean, though the beds were only okay. The mattresses felt thinner and less springy than in most 4 to 5 star hotels I’ve stayed at. Getting our needs across was hard, with a lot of hand gestures, and service could be slow. Breakfast was fine, but for two days in a row I found eggshells in my food. Apart from that, the other food was good, and it was a nice, quiet place to stay.

Ask before booking whether dinner will be available and whether a wedding or similar event is planned during your stay. They seem to serve the people they can gain more from. Otherwise, your holiday could turn into a disaster like mine. Live music at the restaurant and a DJ at the beach played very loud, mixed music, and I couldn’t sleep. The sea was very dirty, which I believe is because the hotel owns a yacht marina and sits in a closed bay. For swimming, I’d try somewhere else, such as the bays around Datca. I won’t get into the rest of the negative points.
