Marbella Hotel Marmaris

The staff at reception were fantastic, and it was great that we could pay extra to check out later. The cleaning ladies were awesome, leaving everything spotless and providing plenty of towels. We also loved the position for evening walks and the very nice private beach. Special thanks to the man looking after the beach and bringing us drinks and ice! Breakfast was average, and they should add more gluten-free choices. Still, we had a fantastic stay at a fantastic hotel, with very friendly, kind staff.

We had a lovely 14 night stay and would definitely recommend this smaller, quieter hotel. It was our first trip to Turkey, and it suited us really well. The place was spotless, our room was cleaned daily, and the friendly staff were always happy to help. Breakfast had lots of choice, including different styles of eggs cooked fresh to order. There’s a nice lunch and dinner menu too, with 10% off for hotel guests. We really recommend a sea view room. Sitting on the balcony and watching the sea and the world go by was lovely. Rooms at the back overlook another hotel’s pool, where music plays all day, so they could be noisy. The beach is well kept, with plenty of sunbeds every day, and you can order drinks and snacks there. There are nice walks in both directions. Turn right for the coastal walk to icmelar, about an hour and a half with a couple of drink stops. Turn left for a similar length walk to the harbour and marina, with boats and good restaurants to see. Just before the marina is the main shopping bazaar. We found good quality designer copies very cheaply at Delboys and Three Brothers. They were friendly and went out of their way for us. Maymi restaurant, only a couple of doors from the hotel, is another great choice, with excellent food and friendly staff. We took a day trip by ferry to Rhodes. It was okay, but passport control involved a lot of queuing in both Marmaris and Rhodes, and it was very busy there. Restaurants seemed expensive. We ordered a small beer each but were brought huge boot shaped beers costing 20 euros apiece. We saw this happening to others too, so we complained to the manager. He charged us for small beers instead, since the large ones were too much for us and weren’t what we ordered.

The hotel’s cleanliness, hygiene, and management reviews settled my holiday choice. I’d been weighing up a couple of countries, I think Tenerife and Turkey, and Marmaris won. Other places had red flags in several reviews. I can be a bit of a clean freak, but this may be my favourite hotel. Everything was immaculately clean, the pool was decent, and the staff were lovely. The front desk people were sound, the cleaners were awesome, and breakfast was soooo good. The omelette and egg cook was busiest, but handled the pressure so well. Please show her some respect while she’s working hard. The hotel has a private beach, which is noice, and it has cats too. One resident is Garfield, an orange furball who’s very greedy, right on brand. It’s roughly midway along the beach, so handy for Marmaris old town, the marina, and Icmeler in the other direction. Rooms at the back face another hotel’s pool, which can get lairy and noisy. Front rooms look out over the beach and waterfront, though some bars out there can be noisy until about 1am. The top floor is floor 4, I think, and may have a smaller footprint, but I didn’t go up there. Most guests seemed to be families and couples. I travelled solo, so it’s not quite as geared to that, but I’d still return. Wholeheartedly recommend it. Thank you, staff!

From arrival until we left, the staff were always ready to help. The place was spotless, the cleaning team were excellent, and the waiting and bar staff were attentive and pleasant. Breakfast was top notch, and the rooms were well equipped. We had the beach, good food, comfort, and a sea view, just as hoped. Ferhan, who manages the beachfront, went above and beyond to look after guests and share local tips. Muga at reception was very kind and helpful, and would arrange anything we asked for. It’s a great spot near shops and other amenities. There’s no gym mentioned, but the sister hotel next door has a small one that did what we needed, and guests can use it for free. We’ll definitely be back!
