The people here were the best part for me. They were consistently friendly and ready to help, whether I needed advice for sunburn, a corkscrew, or just a chat. The owner even stayed up to welcome us when we arrived very late. Staff can speak English and German. We picked Samoy Hotel on our Marmaris trip this summer because it cost much less than the average hotel there. It's a small, family-run place with a family atmosphere. It's not a Hilton, but we had what we needed and then some. Our room wasn't spacious, though there was enough room for our things. It had a little balcony, air conditioner, comfortable beds, wardrobe and table. The paint didn't look especially fresh, but the room was clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was average: boiled eggs, cheese, butter, bread and vegetables. Mayonnaise and sausage might have improved it.

We just got back from Rota Samoy, and it was a disaster instead of the enjoyable holiday we expected. Cheap and cheerful is one thing, but this hotel was awful. Please avoid it, even if you've seen the reviews. We don't think everyone could be wrong, and our family is now seeking compensation.
