Sky Hotel Erciyes a member of Radisson Individuals

The room was fantastic, and the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. We had booked a room with a jacuzzi after the Radisson Blu on the mountain side was full and they suggested the lakeside hotel. On our first morning, they even let us check in at 9:30 am, although check-in was supposed to be at 2 pm. I'd have given this one star, but the staff are the reason it got two. There seem to be system problems here, and it doesn't feel up to the Radisson Blu name. I hope they sort them out soon. We're due at the mountain-side hotel next week. A few things made the stay frustrating. The shuttle to the mountain-side hotel stops at 5 pm. We finished skiing at 5:30 and had to walk. It's close, but crossing a dual carriageway with ski gear, snow in the median, and the colder evening weather wasn't easy. They should consider running the shuttle later. The food choice was limited, which on its own wouldn't have bothered me, but the quality was poor. There were just four main courses, all well below average. I asked for Beylerbeyi-style raki, and they kindly got it from the hotel across the street, but they wouldn't put it on the room bill because that wasn't their policy. We paid 4500 TL for a 35cl bottle. On departure day we checked out and left our suitcases downstairs. At 5 pm we asked for somewhere to change before the journey home and were sent to the spa, which had no changing room, so we used the toilet. I hadn't seen anything like that at either Magna or Das. Then we had to unpack our bags in the fitness center. I was going to attach a photo of the room.

The value for money was low, even though the hotel is new, clean, and centrally located. The rental shop attached to it charges three times the rate at Tekir Kapı: skis that cost 500 TL at the facility there were 1500 TL at the hotel. That makes being close to the connected slopes much less of an advantage. We were there for New Year's Eve, but skipped the event after staff gave us different answers about when it started at the main building, and booked somewhere else instead. The buffet itself was poorly prepared. Breakfast and dinner weren't served hot either. There weren't enough staff, and at breakfast everything we ordered came burnt. Making an omelet or toast shouldn't be that hard. The hotel does run a shuttle to the main building, though service ends in the evening. Staff didn't seem familiar with the area or the slopes, so they couldn't answer our questions or sometimes gave the wrong information. I don't know whether there are better places on the mountain, but this wasn't good value.

That view of the lake from our room made the stay with my friends feel extra special. The building is small, but it's new and has a pool, sauna, and steam room. Being able to swim after a workout with that view was priceless, and Turkish coffee by the fireplace was such a treat. We also got to see the group's other hotel, so it felt like a holiday in two places. The food was fantastic, especially the local dishes and products. The room was spotless, and the chefs deserve a big thank you.

Chef Nevin was so attentive, and her omelets were delicious. Breakfast was great in general, and the staff were friendly and helpful. It's a typical chalet, nice and well equipped, right across from the brand new, sparkling-clean ski lifts. They also have a shuttle running all day. A really good choice for a ski holiday.
