Ayseli Otel

We were four students, and chose Karat Hotel after seeing it listed on Google for 1667 TL. When we arrived, we were told the site with that price was fake and fraudulent, and that the place shown was Ayseli Hotel. We checked in around 8 PM and were kindly given a small discount. They also told us we could check out whenever we wanted, so although we got up early, we took our time, thinking we could leave later in the afternoon. Then at about 2:30 PM, before our scheduled checkout time, a man came to the room and asked us to leave. We explained what we’d been told and checked out. They then asked for 500 TL as a late checkout fee. The amount itself was payable, no problem, but we’d been given the wrong hotel name and price before arrival, then told we could leave at a time of our choice. Neither the manager nor the man working when we asked clarified the rules, and our plans changed because of it. They were polite and courteous, and said they understood we were students and could help us that way. God bless them, I have no complaint about that, but with accurate information I could have left in the morning without the unnecessary stress. I’d recommend staying only if you listen carefully to all the rules and instructions at reception. Google Maps lists it as Karat Hotel, but you’ll arrive at Aysel Hotel. I think correcting this shouldn’t be too hard for a hotel like this.

I planned to stay two days, checked in, then had to leave for Istanbul that same day when things went wrong. I asked them to keep the first day's charge and refund the unused day. They said the accounting department was on vacation. I called a few times, then gave up when it was clear I wouldn't get the refund. That showed me the quality of the place. The room was cold, the bed uncomfortable, and there was no hygiene or drinking water. The phone didn't work, and there was no air conditioner remote.

The reception staff at Ayseli Hotel were attentive and helpful, and I appreciated that. My one-star deduction is for the room: even with the air conditioning on, it stayed quite cold. Cleanliness needed more attention, especially in the bathroom and along the corner baseboards. There was a bad smell from the sink, and the room seemed to need maintenance. I know it’s a price-performance hotel and didn’t expect perfection, but heating and cleanliness are basic. I didn't even bother with the free breakfast. I hope they give these issues more attention.

The room door was broken, the breakfast was awful, and there were no pillowcases or sheets on the bed. The toilet, sink, shower, and even the trash can were filthy. The whole hotel was dirty. It seemed like rooms were used repeatedly and handed to the next guest without cleaning. I've never seen a worse hotel, and I would never recommend it. It's beyond terrible and unsuitable for families, single women, or anyone. I don't know how it got three stars. I'll report it to TURSAB (Turkish Travel Agencies Association). Don't trust the good Google reviews, they’re probably making them up themselves.
