Kavala Hotel

The location and parking were good, but the room smelled of old, stale cigarette smoke even though we’d asked for a non-smoking room. The hotel needs to clearly distinguish smoking rooms from non-smoking ones. The bathroom also needs a more thorough cleaning.

The front desk staff were polite and very helpful, and parking was very good. Breakfast was a real highlight, especially the espresso from the machine. That’s rare, since espresso usually has to be ordered separately. It’s good value for a night or two, though the rooms could be cleaner. The bathroom had wires sticking out, and the shower plumbing needs updating and cleaning.

The balcony had amazing views, and the beds were super comfortable. The room was amazing, the hotel was clean and modern, and the location was great. There’s free secure parking, and check-in staff were really friendly. I had one funny little issue when I asked for another omelette at breakfast and was told I’d already had one.

The free buffet was the only good thing about my stay. The pillow on the bed had been used, and when I asked room service for water, he insulted me. At breakfast, people pointed at me and laughed. Choosing this hotel felt like a big insult to me, and I don’t recommend it. The air conditioner smelled so bad in heating mode that I nearly vomited. Even the food was poor quality.
