Seaphoria Beach (Ex.Maya World Beach)

The pool was the best part of our ten-day stay at Seaphoria Beach Resort. It was clean, and the atmosphere was calm. We were there with a large family. The rooms were okay, but housekeeping was inconsistent, and one room we moved into later hadn't been cleaned properly. The beach was rocky, the gym was messy, and food got repetitive after a few days. Drinks were poor quality, with artificial juices and cocktails. The hotel is quite isolated, about an hour and twenty minutes from Antalya. The rides we arranged through the company recommended by the hotel were unreliable: there was no space for our bags, no car seat, and one car had a dead battery. The hotel roughly matched its price, but I'd spend a little more for somewhere nearer the city, where there's more to do.

We left after just one night, even though we'd booked a longer stay. What we found was far below the quality shown in the photos, and the price wasn't worth it. The “60-80% discount” advertised on Booking gave a very different impression from the reality. The food quality was extremely low, with almost nothing edible apart from some fruit. This isn't family-friendly, since there's nothing for children, and the adult entertainment was very poor. The -1 floor, with the pool, spa, and “gym” area, looked and smelled like a cheap student dorm. Maintenance and cleanliness were far below what the pictures suggested. Definitely not worth the money.

The noise went on until 1 a.m., and the staff were rude and no help at all. During my stay at Seaphoria I got food poisoning, and I was also put up in a filthy room. I left because I was worried about my health. I told the manager I was leaving three nights early and asked for a refund, but he refused. It started badly on our first night. We arrived around midnight and were told there was no room for us. After half an hour, they took us to another hotel, casa fora. The room was disgusting: it hadn’t been cleaned, the shower and bathroom door were broken, the carpet was stained and torn, and there were no sheets. There was black hair all over the bed, and we had no towels or blanket. We were forced to stay there. The next day I insisted on going back to the hotel I had booked. At reception they asked me for 1000 euro in cash, which I didn’t have. In the end, on day 2 of 7, they charged the full cost of the stay to my debit card. Nobody apologized for what had happened. This hotel is a scam, and Booking.com is falsely advertising it as 5 star.

The food was really good, the vitamin bar was great, and the drinks weren’t watered down like at some places in Cancun. The staff at Seaphoria resort also made the stay special, so I’d rate the experience 4.7 stars. The big drawback is that the place feels outdated. There are only two small elevators, which makes getting downstairs for breakfast, lunch, or dinner a bit difficult.
