Ramada Plaza by Wyndham Kahramanmaras

This location only makes sense if you're going to the university hospital, since it's far from the city center. The rooms had a bad smell and didn't feel up to Wyndham and Ramada quality. Service was very slow, and they said the hotel was full even though there was only one person at reception. When she stepped away, I couldn't complete check-in. I also tried to use the fitness center, but it was closed and wouldn't open until after 8am. If you're in town for business, you may need to leave the hotel early.

FOR EUROPEAN VISITORS: THIS HOTEL DOES NOT MEET THE COVID19 SAFETY STANDARDS PROMOTED BY THE WYNDHAM GROUP. On the second day, the same thing happened again: people were walking around the restaurant, reception, and elevator without masks. That was very serious to me, since my complaint the day before hadn't been acted on. At breakfast on day one, I saw that most non-European guests weren't wearing masks, including in the buffet area. It was the staff's job to remind them, especially to show they were trying to protect guests who might be vulnerable to Covid 19. I pointed this out to a waiter, who looked at me as if it didn't matter. I then raised it with the manager. We had a polite discussion, and he agreed the staff should be checking. We pay for good service and safe hotels. Unfortunately, the management at this Ramada couldn't handle the situation, and the staff weren't trained to make guests feel safe.

I had to work while badly sleep deprived after a terrible stay. The man in the next room kept his TV on all night, and the hotel neither changed my room nor made him turn it off. He smoked too, and I could taste the cigarettes in my mouth. Do yourself a favor and avoid this hotel chain. My room had previously been part of a twin room, separated from the other side by only a very thin door, so it felt like I was sharing with a stranger. I don't think this should be legal in a civilized country. The crew's defense of this ridiculous setup was laughable: "Sorry sir, we do not take guest into that room unless we are overbooked!" Then don't rent substandard rooms to guests who don't know about your incompetence! The breakfast was terrible too, and the jam, cheese, and other ingredients were below average.

It's a very new hotel on the edge of town and meets Wyndham standards. The staff are kind, though they're still learning and the experience should improve. The price is too high, more than just a little overpriced.
