Ramada Plaza BY Wyndham Ordu

We felt at home at Ramada and would happily come back. On our three-week trip around the country, this was the first hotel where we were welcomed with smiles and genuine hospitality. The staff were amazing and spoke English very well. The restaurant looked out over the city and Black Sea, and the food was 11/10. Since we're vegetarian, they made falafel especially for us, and it was the best we've ever tried. Thank you, Ramada!

The dinner was the standout for me. The restaurant was fantastic, especially the Halloumi salad, which was really delicious. Apart from that, the hotel was fairly nice, but after two nights on a bikepacking trip, I’d put the stay around 2.5 out of 5. My second room had ants all over one wall, apparently coming through the open window. I only spotted them near the end of my stay, and I had to keep that window open because the room was unbearably hot, close to 40 C. When I showed the front desk a photo and said “ant,” the person laughed and said they didn’t understand me. They didn’t seem to care about my experience in a room full of ants. The AC didn’t work in either room I tried, and I never got an answer after asking about it several times. Maybe my lack of Turkish was part of the problem, since no one I spoke with at the hotel really spoke English, but I changed rooms and asked again without getting anywhere. Most staff seemed well intentioned, and a few were quite good, though the service overall was mediocre. Checkout was slow too. They had someone from housekeeping go check the minibar while I stood waiting for about five minutes. While I was still checking out, a Turkish guest came up and the front desk person switched to helping them, did the same minibar check, and finished with them before coming back to me.

We spent two nights here and were welcomed warmly. The sea view was amazing, and breakfast was generous, with plenty to eat. Everything was good.

I was here for a meeting, and there were lots of meeting rooms, including two large ones with new projectors, built-in sound systems, and good Wi-Fi. The location was excellent, the hotel was very clean, and the a la carte restaurant was splendid, with an incredible sea view. They also offer airport transfer. I’d strongly recommend this place. My three-night stay was excellent, easily worth a 10 if I could give one. The rooms were brand new, spacious, and very comfortable. The staff were kind, polite, friendly, and helpful: Aynur, Tugce, Inci, Semiha, Ozcan, Ali, and others. Breakfast was excellent and had lots of variety. There’s also a big swimming pool, sauna, spa, and all kinds of facilities.
