Club Alla Turca

The view was lovely, and a few members of staff were genuinely kind, but I wouldn’t return or recommend this hotel. The internet kept cutting out, and even when it worked it was only 1.8 Mb/s. We also weren’t given written information about meal times or shuttles, so we had to keep asking and taking notes ourselves. There were serious comfort and safety problems. Our room’s smoke detector still had a seal over it, so it wouldn’t work in a fire. Mosquitoes were everywhere and there were no nets, so we were bitten constantly. The bed was the worst I’ve slept on, and when I asked for help they just put a blanket on the mattress. There was no sound insulation, and we could hear chairs moving, water running, and other noises at all hours. No proper baby bed was provided either. They folded a blanket and put it in the crib, which didn’t feel suitable or safe. Dinner choices were limited and repetitive, and the food was served cold for three days. My wife often had only fruit and yogurt, while our child got by on bread and butter. Breakfast didn’t offer much variety either. Pool towels weren’t provided, and bathroom towels couldn’t be used there, so guests were expected to bring or buy their own. That’s impractical when flying and wasteful. Apart from the view and a few friendly staff, the quality, comfort, food, and services were all well below what we expected.

We enjoyed our stay at Club Alla Turca and would come back. It has a relaxed feel that may suit older guests particularly well. The buildings are three-storey maisonettes, so keep in mind there are no lifts if mobility is an issue. The pool and garden are spacious, with plenty of sunbeds. Rooms are small but clean and pleasant, with good showers and firm mattresses. Power sockets are limited, so an extension cord could come in handy. Breakfast was fine, with something for everyone, though the choice felt a little limited for a four-star place. Fresh orange juice costs extra.

The grounds and pool were lovely, with lots of loungers, and the hotel itself was very clean. Staff were friendly, and we enjoyed the breakfasts: different egg choices, toast and other breads, fruit, cereals, and continental options. There was English tea, flavoured teas, coffee, Turkish coffee, juices, and plenty more. The one downside was the lack of sound insulation. When someone showered upstairs, the water sounded as if it were rushing into our room, and even small chair movements came through.

The riverside path into Dalyan was one of our favourite things, an easy 15-20 minute walk on a paved, well-lit route with stunning scenery. Around the hotel, there’s plenty of room by the pool, with comfortable loungers, umbrellas, and tables. We also liked having a quieter spot away from the pool and comfy booths for a change. We’ve been three times now and still love it. We stayed half board, and both breakfast and dinner had an amazing range of food. Everyone on staff was lovely and looked after us so well. We can’t imagine choosing anywhere else in Dalyan.
