I came across Taskonak Hotel by accident while touring Turkey, after I’d arrived in Dalyan. Sitting on the terrace at breakfast was a treat, with its view of the Lydian Caves, and the breakfast itself was wonderful. The location near the river is great, and the place was comfortable without costing much. It’s run by a Turkish family, which gave it an authentic, personal feel. They made me feel welcome traveling on my own. A lovely little budget hotel in a very handy spot.

The terrace is open all the time, and its view and the location are the best parts. I stayed here in two consecutive years, and the hotel had changed a lot after the new owners renovated and refurbished it. It’s good value for the price. In Dalyan, the boat trip and the King's Tombs are worth seeing. You can order blue crab on the boat and have it brought aboard cooked. The last time I checked, 1.5 crabs cost 30 TL.

A lovely place to step away and read, work on a dissertation, gather your thoughts, or just have some quiet time. Its beautiful spot right in central Dalyan is easy to reach without a car, which makes it popular. And thank you for the delicious pastries and handmade olives. We felt so warmly welcomed.

For a family spending a few days in Dalyan, this is good value. The hotel is right in town, near the harbor and boats. It’s a simple, clean place, kept that way through the efforts of the family who took over management in early 2018.

From the highway, you can see the river and Lycian tombs, and the place itself is wonderful. The hosts are so kind, and breakfast is delicious. We’ll definitely stay with them again next time we’re in Dalyan!
