Fatma and her family made our stay at Abu Hayat Cave Suites a big part of what we loved about Cappadocia. We were there from 20 to 22 October 2025, and would happily return. Fatma is warm and genuine, speaks good English, and enjoys a chat. After our first breakfast she also talked us through places to visit. She helped arrange a rental car through another company, which brought it to the nearest available parking spot, checked the hot air balloon price for us, and booked our ride to the airport. She kept my wife updated through Airbnb messages. We stayed in a ground-floor room. It was lovely, cozy and well furnished, with dependable Wi-Fi and a well-equipped bathroom. As in the other toilets we encountered in Turkiye, there was no bidet. There’s no air conditioning, but the nights were cool with the windows open. A standing fan was available on request if it hadn’t already been lent to another guest. The upstairs rooms can only be reached by stairs. The setting is rustic and beautiful, with scenic views around the Suites. It was just right for taking our own wedding anniversary photos. Stray cats wander around, but please don’t feed them, Fatma’s family feeds them outside. Roxy, a large dog, usually hangs out by the main entrance. She’s friendly and not aggressive, though she could use a bath. 😅 With a rental car, Goreme, Uchisar and Avanos are all fairly close. Red Valley was under a 10-minute drive, and we found a nice spot there to watch the balloons. Janus Cappadocia Restaurant is less than a five-minute walk away, and we thought the food was very good. A small BIM supermarket is around a 15 to 20-minute walk. Breakfast, made by Fatma and her sisters, was a feast each morning, with some variety day to day. There were olives, homemade fruit spreads, pekmez tahin that tasted like another kind of peanut butter, different cheeses, eggs cooked the way we chose, including Turkish Menemen, fresh tomatoes and cucumbers, plus bread and cake. We especially liked sigara boregi and spinach borek. One of Fatma’s sisters also sells crocheted hot air balloon keychains that she makes herself. They’re cute gifts, and we’d only seen one other seller with something similar. Ours cost 100 Turkish Lira each.

The rooms were clean and beautiful, and the hotel sits in a calm, quiet area. Breakfast each day was the best we had in Turkey. It’s a wonderful family-run place, and Fatma, her sisters and brother were such lovely hosts. I’d give it six stars if I could. Thanks for a great stay.

The room was comfortable, clean, and had a Cappadocia feel to it. We had a great time at Abu Hayat cave. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed warmly, and Fatma helped us in every way she could. A special thank you to all the staff.

During our bike tour through Kapadokya, we had such a lovely stay. The staff were friendly and caring, the rooms were spacious and clean, and breakfast on the terrace each morning was great.

I came here looking for some peace, and I found it. Fatima runs a beautiful cave hotel and is a wonderful person. The rooms and breakfast were out of this world. If you're going to Cappadocia, this is where you should stay. And don't forget to go ballooning.
