Kriss Hotel

The hotel Wi-Fi only reached me by the pool and bar, not in my room or near reception, which was a small inconvenience. The food could be better, though at that price I wasn't expecting miracles. Rooms were decent and clean, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I spent a week here in 2024. It wasn't crowded, which would suit anyone who dislikes busy places. I was practically never sober during the stay, so I had a great time. Best wishes to the older guy tending the bar. The sea is around 5 or 8 minutes away on foot. An honest 4 out of 5.

The hotel is quiet at night, so I slept well, and it seems suitable for a stay with small children. It's cozy and reasonably priced, and the staff are always there for you and very polite. The food is healthy, with protein like beans and plenty of fibre. There are lots of dogs and cats around, but the dogs don't come into the hotel, and cats aren't allowed in the kitchen or bar. The animals have food of their own and seem safe there. It's about a five-minute walk to the public beach or the tourist street with shops and cafes.

We booked this place for September after a cancellation in August, and decided to celebrate our 25th anniversary here. I'm so glad we did. The staff felt like friends and went out of their way to look after our needs and celebrations. I've traveled a lot, but I have never felt so welcomed or safe. Leaving was heartbreaking. I've never cried all the way to the airport because I didn't want to leave a holiday before. I truly wanted to stay, uproot and make a life here. I can't express how amazing the experience was.

Please don't rely on reviews from before 2022. The shower was always hot and the beer cold, but that's about all I can praise. The hotel had no sports or entertainment as the brochure said. There was a dartboard without darts and a table tennis table without bats or a ball. The bar shut at 11pm, with no way to buy alcohol after that, and there were only four alcohol choices. Food was inedible and options were very limited. The chef was a butcher by trade, and often served the same items several days running. Even chicken bones from guests' plates were reused, which was disgusting. He wore jeans and a T-shirt, unlike the online photo. Breakfast meant boiled or scrambled eggs, the scrambled ones gray and burnt, over fried onion rings that were dark brown and overcooked chips.
