Spa Hotel Colossae Thermal

We had a really pleasant four days here over winter break, and we're planning to return next year. The room was small but fine for our family of four. Some furniture was a little worn, though clean and problem-free. After reading reviews, I expected worse. We had no trouble with extra charges for water or tea, and everyone found something they liked in the good food. The hotel also arranged daily activities for both children and adults. Every staff member was kind and helpful. The indoor pool can feel small and crowded in winter, but the hot spring pools and Turkish sauna are free, as are billiards and table tennis. It's a peaceful area near the famous red stone and salt terraces in Pamukkale, and Denizli Kayak Merkezi is 1.5 h away. We've stayed at many hotels in Turkey, and this 5-star rating doesn't mean the same thing as a European 5-star rating, which may explain why some guests expect more. For the price, I thought the quality was excellent.

The spa, massage, and fairly large rooms were good. Still, we expected a 5-star experience and came away disappointed. There was hair on the blanket, on the towels, and even on our new hairbrush. Reception staff were impolite and didn't help with the language barrier. The restaurant staff were unfriendly, and there were problems with the elevator.

A tall, heavy man tried to clear our table during dinner before we'd finished, so we had to stop him. He seemed angry the whole time and muttered something to us.

It's a good spot for a big group and we found it really relaxing. The room was warm and quite delightful. Dinner and breakfast 🥞 were good, with lots of food laid out on the table. Merbaha from Malaysia !
