Sunrise Aya Hotel

In all my years of work, I've stayed in thousands of hotels, and this may be the worst one. The management feels completely amateur. It's a family business, but the attitude seems to be, whoever shows up, shows up, and whoever doesn't, doesn't. Don't expect respect here. It's at the very top of my list of places to avoid.

The garden bar area is cute, and the pool was a nice way to cool off. I found the room comfortable and appreciated the air conditioning. They also did our laundry for very little. The staff were really nice, and the price was great.

The breakfast was amazing, and the rooms were clean. It felt like being at home, and I felt safe staying here. The staff are very friendly, and the owner's wife is Japanese. There's a cute garden and pool, and the travertines are an easy walk away. I'd come back.

I stayed here on a Turkey trip seven years ago, and what stuck with me most was how at home the owners made me feel. It was run by a Turkish husband and Japanese wife, and I'd like to return someday, maybe for a night in Pamukkale if I visit Bodrum. Their kids must be much taller by now. Wishing the family good health, and hoping to see them again. I can't swim, but I still remember sitting by the pool with a beer and watching everyone else swim. There was a cozy café where you could sit without ordering. I bought inexpensive beer at the little poolside bar and took cold water to bed, then fell asleep without drinking it, lol. The room had no mini-fridge, so if you need one, a mid-range hotel might suit you better. The air conditioning was quiet, and the shower was roomy and comfortable.
