The part our kids loved most was the turtles wandering around the property. We also spent each evening back in one of the gardens, drinking tea and hanging out. The grounds are big and beautiful, so they were a pleasure to spend time in, and the location is unbeatable, right beside the center of everything. Breakfast was as good as expected, with spectacular views. We rented three rooms for two nights for eight of us: the grandparents, my wife and me, my sister, and our children aged 2, 4, and 7. We were excited for the trip, but the experience left us speechless. We've found Turkish hospitality great across the country, but our stay at Leyla’s konak was the best of my life. The staff went above and beyond to help with everything we needed. Our itinerary was already packed, but they still gave us recommendations, and I'm glad we listened to Ahmet. He was the standout, really knowledgeable about the city and the konak. I think he's studying special education in college. Thank you.

The owners noticed at our second breakfast which items we'd enjoyed most and brought extra portions, even though we hadn't asked or told them beforehand. Thanks to the young man and woman who were there during our short but memorable stay. The rooms were in excellent condition, and the mansion had the feeling of travelling a hundred years back with today's comforts. The location is perfect for visiting Safranbolu by car. There's a car park right above, by the museum grounds.

I couldn't shower one night because there was no hot water, and staff offered no alternative, just told me to wait until morning. The bathroom was also far too small and dim. The toilet was exactly where I needed to stand to use the sink, so I had to do everything from the side, with the door right behind me. The room itself was beautiful, nicely decorated, and had a great view over town. But the bed seemed really old and squeaked with the slightest movement. You either had to stay completely still or risk being woken by the noise. Definitely not my best hotel or Airbnb experience.

The staff were warm, the rooms clean, and the views excellent. It was a pleasant, quiet stay, and they even let us check in very early. We booked through agoda, where the check-in time was mistyped as 12AM. Please correct that.
