Olea Deluxe Sapanca

My wife and I came from Istanbul to Olea Sapanca on January 31, 2026, hoping for a special day out, our second visit, and we left very disappointed. The breakfast was cheap and low quality, and the service didn't come close to matching the price. We won't stay here again or recommend it. Cleanliness was inadequate overall. When we entered the room, we checked the fire extinguisher and found it empty, which is a serious safety hazard. The room also lacked several basics: the cutlery set was for one person instead of two, there were coffee cups but no saucers, no single-serving Turkish coffee packets, and no soap for making bubbles in the jacuzzi. There was no soap, shower gel, toothbrush, or hairdryer either. I wanted to shower and dry my hair after swimming in the heated pool in February, but couldn't. My wife called twice to explain what we needed, and even though I had a migraine, we didn't get the care we needed. I shouldn't have to pack for a week, including a hairdryer, for a one-night stay. The bedside air conditioner was my only comfort, but my hair stayed damp practically all night. The heating was poor too, and we were cold until bedtime and again in the morning. The photos and our first visit showed a stove in the room, but there wasn't one this time. We wanted to sit by the wood-fired stove near the pool, but no firewood was provided. We kept calling the staff member who was helping us. Even locking the bathroom door was an issue, and I'm attaching photos of the details. It's frustrating to have to think about all these basics during a stay. I wish we'd read the reviews before booking. When we first visited, the place had just opened and everything seemed great, which is why we chose it again.

My wife, child, and I were very satisfied with our visit. I arrived unsure after reading negative reviews, so I booked just one night and packed lightly. The facility was perfectly clean, and the pool looked so clean that I changed my mind and went in, even though I hadn't planned to. Breakfast was quite sufficient, and they took hygiene very seriously, wrapping every plate individually in plastic. It got tiring to unwrap them all, but they clearly didn't cut corners. There are some bulges and cracks in the flooring because water-resistant parquet wasn't used, but that's wear from use, not dirt. To me, a dirty place would have hair or body waste from the previous guest, a bad smell, yellow stains on the pillows or mattress, or heavy dampness and a foul odor inside the bungalow. I don't understand what people who called this place dirty and terrible expected, or what more the owners could do to have their effort recognized. A business's name and service shouldn't be so easily tarnished by anyone's comments. The last 150 meters of road are a bit bumpy, and the municipality needs to take care of that. The staff also promptly bring anything you forgot to mention.

The view is beautiful, and the place is quiet and peaceful. The location is nice too, apart from the bad road. Rooms and garden were averagely clean, and the pool temperature was ideal, but there were insects in it. That can happen outdoors, though similar places use a retractable cover to keep pools clean. They only cleaned it after we asked. We also had to message and call repeatedly for toilet paper, and even after they came to clean the pool and we asked again, none arrived. The room had just one bottle of shower gel. When we asked for small things like a glass, since the ones in the room were worn and plastic, they said they'd check the warehouse and let us know. None of our requests were actually fulfilled. Check-in didn't happen until 2:30 PM. I don't blame the man at reception, who seemed to be trying to handle everything. Still, every time we called, I had to ring at least three or four times just to get a simple request sorted. The booking was a mess too. We reserved one weekend night for one person through the system and paid a deposit. Then they called to say a one-night weekend stay wasn't possible and they didn't know how the system had allowed it. They offered either a two-night stay or a rate of 10,000 TL per day, about 2,000-3,000 TL more than usual. In other words, they wanted extra money. They didn't even take responsibility for the system problem or acknowledge that it wasn't the customer's fault. I've stayed at plenty of hotels and guesthouses in Sapanca and around the world, and I've never seen this. At another Sapanca place, they didn't leave us waiting for hours for tongs, and they didn't refuse: they lit the barbecue and brought it to us. They even served tea and cookies in the afternoon, and breakfast came with much more. I won't go back, and I'll seek my rights over the trouble we had. It's strange that a business charging so much can't sort out a few details.

We stayed in a 2+1 apartment as a group of six on February 7-8 and were very happy with our choice. Even with the cold, rainy weather, the rooms and pool were warm and cozy. We hadn't prepared very well, but the staff quickly brought whatever we needed. The towels and sheets were spotless and smelled as fresh as if they'd just been washed at home. The hotel provides a barbecue grill. We only brought our own food, drinks, and firewood, and everything else was taken care of. We had hesitated because there were so many bungalows to choose from, but we were really pleased. You can book with confidence. Thank you, Olea family, and see you again!
