New Hotel Samsun

The breakfast was a shock: the potatoes were swimming in oil, the sausages were bone dry, and the tea was the color of lemonade. For the amount we paid, the place wasn't worth even a third, especially compared with other hotels at similar prices where we'd expected much better service. Other guests complained to staff at breakfast too, and one employee replied, "As if it's my fault." That was far from professional. I raised the same issues with the receptionist when checking out and said I'd post a review. When I mentioned how dirty it was, the staff acted shocked. People can have different ideas about clean, but I couldn't understand their surprise at a place worse than a public toilet. We stayed one day after taking someone's recommendation, and everywhere was filthy. I travel and stay in hotels often, and this was dirtier than places I've considered the worst. I first thought our room hadn't been cleaned and asked them to clean it again. The cleaner who came joked, "This is all we have, hahahaha." They were indifferent and unpleasant. The sinks had hair left by the previous guest, and the floors had dust, dirt, and clothing lint. The rooms were very old. The mirrors in the corridors and elevator looked as if filth were running down them, and there were dust clumps in the corners. In a room for three, they left one roll of toilet paper. When we asked for more, we had to go get it ourselves, and they handed us one roll. There weren't even basic facilities for other needs. I also doubt the positive reviews are real, and suspect the owners made them up to raise the rating.

I was here for work, but I'd gladly bring my family next time. It felt like home, thanks to the cleanliness and the friendly staff.

I'm very particular about cleanliness, and I can wholeheartedly recommend this place. Everything was lovely, and the welcoming staff made us feel at home. Thanks for everything.

Being right on the beach is a real plus and makes this a very appealing hotel. Our room was clean, the staff were helpful and friendly, and we were very happy with the service. Thanks to everyone. We'd definitely stay here again.
