Kançul Hotel Taştepeler

Just get out of there. The place is a mess. It was supposedly renovated, but the work is unfinished, and what they did start looks like it needs to be ripped out and redone. So much doesn't work that it's almost funny: no AC or heater, a shower with no drainage, missing door knobs, flooring laid over holes in the structure, and carpets hiding poorly finished cement. Then, in the middle of the night, someone dragged me out of bed demanding to see passports. They said a person in the building posed a threat, but gave no further explanation.

Everything about our four-day holiday stay in the southeast felt disappointing, from arrival to checkout. Our first room was dirty, and showering left water all over the bathroom because the silicone beneath the stall was worn away. We spent half an hour cleaning it ourselves. When I told the receptionist, he said, "Just deal with it, I can't help you right now." He saw I was upset and moved us to another room, but there the socket was loose, the shower head broken, and the stall leaked again. We reported that too, and it was dealt with the following day. Breakfast on day one was a disaster: no clean plates or cleaning service, crumbs all over the tables, and no cleaners around. The eggs were warm and green inside; the fries were ice cold and seemed to have been sitting for hours, while the fried eggplant was burnt and frozen. We ate breakfast outside for the remaining three days. There were no phones in the rooms, and nobody was working in the restaurant. Guests had to call the hotel on their own phones to ask for staff. We asked the receptionist to note that our room needed cleaning for two days, but it never happened. When I ran out of toilet paper, I had to go downstairs to request more. The staff acted bothered by our presence and were very unfriendly. I've spent 20 years working in every department of tourism and have stayed in many hotels on many holidays. I can say this was the worst hotel I've ever been to, and it practically ruined our vacation. At checkout, my car was covered in bird droppings. Stay here if you want to waste your money.
