Umut Thermal Spa & Wellness Hotel

The staff at Umut Thermal Hotel were really attentive and helpful, and this was my third time staying there. I’m even thinking of coming back, though I hope management deals with the problems I ran into. There’s a lot to enjoy at the hotel. It has several indoor and outdoor thermal pools, jacuzzis, heated swimming pools that aren’t thermal, and a mud pool. There are separate pools and mud pools for women, alongside mixed pools. There’s also a little aqua park with slides, a mini football pitch, a game room, a hamam, and a spa. Spa prices seemed average, with treatment packages available. Alcohol is served, and prices for it are reasonable. The rooms were spotless and nicely designed, with comfortable beds and very good cleaning. You can ask to have the bathtub filled with thermal water. Room service was extremely quick, and there’s parking, including shaded spaces. I’d suggest staying at least two days. With a few fixes, it could be the restful holiday it deserves to be. The main building rooms were unbearably hot even in January, like sitting in a Turkish bath all day. The hotel couldn’t seem to control the heating, and that needs urgent attention. We had too few clothes hangers, and there were no drawers, shoe-cleaning or sewing kits, pen, or notepad. Our balcony mosquito screen was broken, too. Rooms right above the main entrance can be noisy late into the evening, with people smoking and sitting outside. Since the rooms are so hot, you need the windows open, which makes the noise worse. Dinner and breakfast weren’t as good as I expected from the area’s most expensive hotel by nightly rate. Breakfast ends at 10:00, far too early for people who come to relax. It should run until at least 11. Some showers and facilities in certain areas were poorly maintained. When I called, I could only reserve through a contracted agency, not directly with the hotel. The live music at dinner was also much too loud and disturbing; they should turn it down.
