Camkar Hotel

Cosy and convenient, right in front of the lifts.

Really good.

The ski school is excellent, and you can trust Sedat and Fatih with your children. The location on the mountain is hard to beat, with just a minute to the ski lift, and the rooms were as clean as ever. The food's taste and variety were average, though, and the bar's drink selection was very limited and needs work. After 15 years of feeling at home at Çamkar Hotel, we were disappointed with how things ran this year. Most of the staff had left, except at reception. In the restaurant, the staff seemed grumpy, sat around rather than working, and acted as if they were there under duress. We really missed Mr. Battal and his team, who used to greet us with smiles and go beyond what we asked for. Their friendliness used to make us overlook other negatives. The reception team were still friendly, helpful, and sincere. Eylem, Musa, and Fatih Bey gave us a warm welcome and goodbye. The hotel still works well for ski school, location, and cleanliness, but if friendliness, amenities, and comfort matter to you, it may not meet your expectations.

The hotel is right at the chairlift. My friends and I came from different cities for a day trip from Erzurum. We arrived before the facility opened because of our travel schedule and asked if we could wait in the lobby. The staff were very polite and attentive. Drinks are available for a fee. I got a trustworthy impression in every way. If I stay in Sarıkamış, this will be my first choice.
