Akanthus Ephesus Boutique Hotel

The best part of our stay was sharing a drink one evening with the owner, Muharrem, and the manager. They're such welcoming people, and nothing seems too much trouble. The hotel sets a high bar for what a boutique hotel can be, and we had a wonderful stay from start to finish. Our room was tastefully finished and furnished with quality fittings. We had to cancel the first night of our two night break because of a family illness, so only had the remaining night booked. The manager offered us another night free when we arrived. Our reservation was prepaid and non-cancellable, so they had no obligation to do that. We thought it was very generous. The courtyard, with its pool and terrace, was immaculate and peaceful. Guests could help themselves all day to complimentary hot and cold drinks and homemade cake in the dining area and terrace. Breakfast was lovely, with lots of plated cheeses, meats, fruit, and fresh eggs cooked to order. The hotel sits in the characterful old part of town, near the Mosque and Citadel, and a short walk from a good range of bars and restaurants. There was plenty of safe on street parking on the quiet nearby side roads, and Ephesus is a very short drive away. If you're looking for a place to stay in Selcuk or Ephesus on Trip Advisor, you really don't need to look further. Book the Akanthus, you won't regret it!

We just left Akanthus Hotel after three nights. It's a beautiful, peaceful place near Selcuk city centre, with friendly, welcoming staff. Ephesus is a bit of a walk, though it was cool enough to make the walk pleasant. Breakfast was simple but good, and the hotel made Selcuk feel like home. One thing to know, it's a boutique hotel with stairs, so you'll need to carry your luggage up if your room is upstairs.

Breakfast was a highlight each morning, with fresh options like omelets, eggs, and Turkish menemen. Coffee and cake were available 24 hours a day, and the outdoor seating under the olive tree felt like a peaceful oasis after sightseeing. The room quality surprised us too. The bed was the most comfortable we'd had during our time in Turkey, and the furniture, decor, and even the bathroom fixtures were elegant and high quality. You can tell they pay attention to the small details. Akanthus Hotel is a lovely little boutique place within walking distance of many sites in Selçuk and a short ride from Ephesus. The staff were incredibly friendly and made sure everything was taken care of. We're so glad we chose to stay here. If we come back, this will be the only hotel we'd consider. Teşekkür ederim!

Just fabulous. The courtyard and pool are gorgeous, and the whole hotel is clean with thoughtful details throughout. The rooms are bright and airy, with quality bedding. The staff are professional and still have time for a chat. Highly recommended.
