We paid 130TL and, since it was already late, we were only allowed to see the church ruins, where the tomb of St. John the Apostle lies. That was our mistake, though we really appreciated being let in at all. It's a beautiful area, full of history and religious importance, and wandering around to see the very old architecture and former church was great. I gave it 4 stars because there seems to be a lot more to explore and learn here. English translations, and translations in other languages too, were scarce, and it felt like the place wasn't getting much attention.

A great place to visit, though you don't need more than 30 minutes. Watch out for parking, it isn't free.

The ancient ruins make this an interesting place, and because not many people know about it, there were very few visitors. We could walk around calmly and see everything. Since the site is up on a hill, it has a lovely view over the city. If you're nearby, be sure to visit. It's smaller and less famous than Ephesus, but still worth the trip.

It was a pleasant visit, but the information on display was too limited. I also wouldn't suggest buying anything from the café inside the museum.

Turkey has plenty of ancient culture, as usual, but it isn't explained very well, and there isn't much information to help you make sense of the remains in front of you. The costly entry fees are another familiar feature at the country's historic sites.
