Elizya Boutique Otel

We spent a couple of days at Elizya and were impressed by the room, which was modern and well equipped. The beach is only a few minutes away, and the breakfast was wonderful, with local products and fruit from the property. The owner and her team gave us a very warm welcome. I’d recommend staying here.

We came for four days to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my husband’s birthday, but the stay was completely spoiled. We paid 170 euro per night and expected the room described on Booking, which was listed as 20 m2. In reality, the room was 9 m2, plus a 5 m2 bathroom, 14 m2 total. It was tiny, with just a bed and a small wardrobe, no chair, shelves, or laptop table. Two people could barely be in there, and I needed a place to work. We asked Ms Ceren to change rooms or provide a workspace, but she did nothing. As I understand it, the hotel has some tiny rooms and some good ones, sold at the same price, so you don’t know what you’ll get when you arrive. There were ants in the room, including in the bed and bathroom. The shower kept cycling from warm to very hot to cold every 30 seconds, and noises from the pipes or air conditioning at night made it hard to sleep. The hotel Wi-Fi didn’t work. The hotel beach is 1 km away and requires a car. It’s small and shared by three or four hotels, so it gets crowded. Food and drinks at the beach restaurant were overpriced and poor quality. My husband and I got food poisoning there, and he was so ill he spent his birthday in bed. Ms Ceren offered a room change only after two days. We waited half a day to move, but the replacement was almost the same, just a little bigger with a tiny bathroom, so we refused. Even after I explained the special occasions, she did nothing to improve the situation. The hotel needs to rethink its pricing and how it treats customers, and stop giving misleading room information. Highly not recommended.

The boat trip we took on Ms. Ayşe’s recommendation was a highlight, and we’re grateful for her care and attention. We stayed with friends as two families from August 4-6. Our rooms were spotless and roomy enough for us since we don’t spend much time in them. Breakfast is buffet style, with plenty to go around. They’ll happily bring more if you ask, though we didn’t need any extra. The hotel doesn’t have its own beach, but guests can use another hotel from the same company for free, including the sunbeds and umbrellas. Thanks to everyone who looked after us.

We left the car in the hotel parking lot when we arrived and didn’t need it again until checkout, since everything was within walking distance. The place is peaceful, with its own pool, balconies in every room, and carefully thought-out room design. Breakfast was homemade and delicious, and the food and drinks were tasty too. We could also use the hotel’s Mavi Deniz beach for free. It’s a beautiful hotel we’ll choose whenever we return to Selimiye.
