Losta Sahil Evi 2

I planned to stay at Losta Sahil Evi in Selimiye, Marmaris for five days, but extended the visit to seven because I had such a good time. For the first five days I was at Losta Sahil Evi-2 in a sea-view room. Then I moved to Losta Sahil Evi-1, first in a partial sea-view room, and spent my final night in another room with a view. The waterfront setting is excellent. There's a dock with loungers and umbrellas for hotel guests, and in the evening it becomes a restaurant. The sea is generally clean, though you can sometimes see litter from the many sailboats in the bay. Rooms are fairly spacious and comfortable, but could use a few small upgrades. My last room smelled of sewage. The staff apologized promptly, but as it was my final night there wasn't much to do. Service at Losta Sahil Evi-2 was especially friendly and helpful, including the owners and management, who really tried to make guests happy. The staff at Losta Sahil Evi-1 were more indifferent, which was disappointing. The internet was consistently poor, surprising in 2024 when so many guests need access. It was especially difficult for international visitors without a local mobile plan. Breakfast was outstanding, with plenty of choice and extras such as fried eggs available at no added cost. Tea is included, but coffee costs extra, which is puzzling. There's no free water in the rooms, and guests are discouraged from bringing their own food or drinks, leaving the more expensive on-site purchases as the only option. Dinner prices vary. Some dishes were excellent, others disappointing. Drinks cost about what they do elsewhere in the area, though alcohol felt somewhat expensive given Turkey's general price levels. My scores: service 9/10 because of the indifference at Losta Sahil Evi-1, breakfast 10/10 despite the coffee charge, cleanliness 10/10, restaurant 7/10, location 10/10, and room view 10/10 for rooms with a view. I rate the hotel 9/10 and thank the owners and staff for a pleasant stay. Prices aren't the cheapest, but reflect the setting and service. I'd highly recommend Losta Sahil Evi-2 for its service and beautiful location.
