Selimhan Hotel - Selimiye

We came all the way from Australia and are already planning to return next year, this time hoping to stay a week in Selimiye ❤️ After six nights in crowded, noisy, touristy Marmaris, we were glad to get away from the bustle and spend three nights at Selimhan Otel. Selimiye felt like the Turkey we love, an authentic fishing village with clear water, wonderful Turkish people, and amazing local food. Selimhan Otel is built in traditional stone and fits in with the mountains and nature, so it doesn’t feel like a typical hotel. Our room was spacious, with a lovely garden-facing balcony, and we were upgraded to a family room, thank you again 😊 The property is impeccably maintained, and the staff are wonderful. Breakfast is a generous buffet of Turkish treats, including different cheeses and simit. They also provide free bottled water, plus tea and coffee in the afternoon and evening. The beach is only a minute away on foot, with a private area for hotel guests that didn’t feel crowded even on the weekend. It’s a five-minute walk into town, with endless restaurant choices. I’ve visited Turkey more than 30 times, and this is probably the most impeccable place I’ve stayed. Don’t expect much spoken English, as most guests are Turkish and the staff speak only a little, but they’re good at answering questions in English on WhatsApp.
