Tepe Beach Hotel

We spent the last week of August at Soli Apart, not Tepe Beach Hotel, which I only heard about as I passed by. The 1+1 unit had an American-style kitchen and two air-conditioned rooms, with sea views from the balcony. Our family of five adults fit there. It could work well for working people or retirees. You take care of your own meals, and how clean things stay depends on how much you use the space. The sofa bed and a few faucets were old.

We stayed three days, and the hotel had no electricity on two nights. Apparently there was no generator for the building, so we were left in the dark. The breakfast space was full of cats, and there was cat hair everywhere. The bathroom drain was blocked, and I had to clear it myself. The room was tiny, dirty, and had no balcony, table, or chairs. They'd made a mess enlarging the beds, too. We had booked a room for four by phone, but on arrival they said it had been sold to someone else and put us in a room for two. We chose the place for its location despite the bad reviews, and I wish we hadn't. When we left, I said I didn't forgive them for charging us for a four-person room while giving us one for two. They seemed used to hearing complaints and didn't care. To me, this is no different from being scammed, and I still don't forgive them.

The view and location are beautiful, but the male receptionist's manner was awful. He arrogantly said he'd been doing the job for eight years, yet his customer service was poor and not humble at all. That attitude will cost the hotel customers, and I wouldn't stay there again because of him. Management needs to deal with the problem or more guests will turn away. The sun loungers were also in very poor shape and uncomfortable for relaxing or sunbathing.

We paid 5,000 TL for one night, but the service didn't feel worth even 1,000 TL. The rooms were filthy, flies were everywhere, and the sea was dirty around the pier. Breakfast was practically nonexistent. When we came down, the tables were all empty but hadn't been cleaned, and there was nowhere to sit. With this much neglect, I can't see another explanation except that the hotel may close soon. Staying at one of the guesthouses across the road and eating out three times a day would cost less.
