No point dressing it up: they're ripping people off over renovations, and Hotels.com is helping them. 6000 TL wasted.

The hotel's restaurant food was especially good, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout. We had a positive stay, despite a few small communication problems. We'd booked a family suite but were given a double room instead; they refunded the difference without any trouble.

The owner was rude, acting as if the station belonged to his father when he asked who'd given us permission to film there. We had only driven into the station to do a little filming. It's a nice place inside the historic train station, but he behaved as if he owned it.

I wasn't sure about the place at first because there wasn't much general awareness of it, but after visiting I was really pleased. The quiet rooms sit among nature, and the large gardens have thoughtful touches like a fire pit, barbecue and hammock. It felt like home, and I'll definitely come back regularly to escape the noise of Istanbul. The historic character of the hotel and rooms, along with the atmosphere, is magnificent. Rooms are clean and beautiful, staff are genuinely friendly and helpful, and although it's a little remote, getting there is easy.
