Harbour Otel

The part that upset me most was how the reservation problem was handled. A woman at reception told us we had to pay extra because our 15-year-old son was listed as an adult, even though my wife had made and paid for the booking an hour earlier. We had been told there was a queen bed, but then she said there was only one and wanted more money. I said we didn't want to stay and asked to cancel. She said I had to call the call center. As we left, she made a sarcastic remark about whether Hilton would let us stay, as if she was trying to provoke me. The next day, the hotel kept resisting refunding us. I contacted my bank and filed a dispute, and I don't expect them to get any money from me. We had come from Kastamonu for a week on the Black Sea coast. Friends said we should see Sinop, so we decided to stay the night and paid in advance to save time. I'm a Hilton member and usually find a two-king-bed room for $110 wherever I go. When we arrived, the hotel didn't show up on the map, and there was no parking. We eventually got there, but the receptionist started arguing about our son's age and the room arrangement. Another day, we found a hotel a street behind them with one king bed and two singles for 3000 liras, and no problems. We also had no trouble in Samsun or Ordu. This woman's behavior disrupted our trip. This isn't about the money. Mistakes happen, and I could have made one, or my wife could have made one, but the way she acted was unprofessional. I wanted an apology and was willing to sort out whose fault it was. Instead, she wouldn't even give her name. I'm a businessman and have worked since I was 13. I know the long-established knife sellers on the corner and a couple of local business owners at the scene, and I told them I'd tell everyone and do what I could. I don't know who owns the hotel or motel, or whether they intend to rip people off. It's a shame when tourists decide to go to another country because of experiences like this. People in business should learn how to deal with customers.

The homemade breakfast was amazing, and we especially enjoyed chatting with staff after breakfast and in the evenings. From arrival until we left, everyone was welcoming, cheerful, and happy to suggest places to visit and eat. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely come back. I'd recommend The Harbour Hotel to anyone.

The manager and staff were so helpful, and my room was beautiful and clean. The hotel is close to the Black sea and the main attractions in Sinop. They even gave me a cute little boat souvenir from Harbour Otel 😍 I missed breakfast, though I heard it's pretty good. A lovely hidden gem downtown, and I'll choose it again next time. Highly recommended! 👍
