Hotel North Sails

My wife had an exam in Sinop, so we stayed for one night. We were tired from the trip and decided to put up with things rather than cause a fuss, but it was a pretty miserable stay. The toilet seat had urine residue, so the bathroom clearly hadn’t been cleaned, and the sheets didn’t seem like they belonged in a three-star hotel. The fridge wasn’t working either. When the staff member showed us upstairs, he opened the room, said, "There's nothing missing in your room," and hurried away. I wondered if he was trying to avoid me mentioning the fridge. We barely slept. A door across from us kept slamming in the wind, and even though it was near the lobby, nobody did anything until I finally told the staff. They closed it, but there was still a lot of noise from the hotel that night, and I stayed quiet again to avoid a disturbance. Because of the curfew, we had the hotel breakfast the next morning. It was a few tomato and cucumber slices, a slice of cheese, some olives, and a small piece of jam, like a dorm breakfast. People who left good reviews might be friends of the owner, from Sinop, or may not have stayed in hotels before. Maybe they treated us differently. Plenty of no-star boutique hotels are much better than this one.

We spent six days at North Sails and had a fantastic stay. The area is peaceful, with the city center only a few minutes away, and most rooms look out over the sea and unspoiled nature. Cleanliness and service clearly get a lot of attention, right from the rooms. Definitely recommended! :)

The staff were very helpful, and breakfast was good. The room could have been cleaner, with dust on the furniture and a bathroom that hadn’t been properly cleaned, even though the sheets were clean. If you stay here, I’d pick a room with a sea view.

This was an incredibly dirty, awful hotel. We checked two other rooms hoping they might be cleaner, but they were just as bad. The toilet and bathroom were filthy, grimy, and covered in hair and lint, with used, dried-out toilet paper left behind. The staff behaved terribly too. They even charged extra for the water we drank at breakfast. Don’t stay here. You’d have a more comfortable, peaceful holiday in a tent.
