Sinop Antik Hotel

There’s plenty of potential here, and in Sinop this may be one of the best hotels. The private beach is for guests, dinner is outstanding, and the dining staff are very friendly. Rooms are small but clean, with good air conditioning. Most of the other guests were pleasant, and I met some good people. Breakfast, though, was frustrating. The serving area is so cramped you can barely fill a plate without bumping into someone. Food isn't replenished until it runs out, then you may wait 20 minutes. The breakfast room closes at 10:30, and coffee taken at 10:15 was cold. My young daughter only drinks water at room temperature. They said they couldn't provide it because the restaurant area where it was kept was closed, so I got water from my room. I asked again the next day, but nothing had changed. When I asked whether they'd learned from the day before, the employee said it wasn't her responsibility. Even with these issues, I'd still say this is one of Sinop's better hotels, with a lot of room to improve.

At 7000TL a night, I judged the stay by what the price gets you. The location is very nice, right by the sea, with a fairly clean stretch of beach. There's also a heated pool that can be covered, which helps in bad weather. The restaurant food was pretty good but somewhat expensive, and the staff were attentive. Breakfast had a large selection and was good, somewhere in the middle of what I've had. The room is where the value starts to fall short. At that price, I expected more comfort. It's small and doesn't comfortably fit a couple with a baby. You can see the sea from the balcony, but there are no chairs, so it's really only useful for drying swimwear. An extra table or desk and a small couch would make a difference. The bathroom is cramped, with the toilet and sink in each other's way. The shower drain isn't set up right, so water covers the floor, though extra towels can help. The shower cabin itself is decent, but the showerhead feels basic for this price. On the plus side, the hot water and pressure are both very good, and the hotel supplied a baby bed with sheets, damaged a little but usable. It's a decent hotel if you don't plan to spend much time in the room. With a baby or children, when you might want to relax indoors, I wouldn't recommend it. There's a market nearby, but you'll need a car for other amenities and restaurants. These comments are for the July 2024 rate.

The location is definitely good, and the beach bar is slow but decent. Hygiene wasn't great, especially around the beach area, which was also very unclean. Because of that, I went next door.

The owners were extremely kind and helpful, and even put together a list of things to do in Safranbolu with restaurant suggestions. We booked two family rooms, and they provided a baby bed. The historic house has been renovated beautifully, and the views are amazing. Our room was clean and cozy, and breakfast was delicious. If you're after an authentic Safronbolu stay, this is the place. Everything was wonderful. Thank you, Abdullah bey.
