Athena Life Hotel

The location is excellent, and the hotel fits what I’d expect from a three-star place. It has a mosque inside and a WC for Islamic Taharat. All the staff speak Farsi and are very kind. The sheets were dirty, and there were no tissues. There wasn’t anything else either.

I stayed one night in November 2024. The lobby sofas were fine for sitting, and tea was brought to me when I asked for it in the lobby during the day. The staff’s attitude was very ordinary, and breakfast was limited. I’d booked a double room but was given a very small one with a small window that had no handle and couldn’t be opened, so there was no air circulation. On top of that, a strong smell of cigarettes kept coming into the room from outside and was unbearable. There are better hotels in Van, and I wouldn’t recommend this one for a long stay.

Breakfast was relatively good, especially for a three-star hotel. The rest of the experience had several problems: the room wasn’t clean, the lighting was very dim, and there was no refrigerator. They also didn’t provide bathroom slippers, and the staff weren’t particularly hospitable.

The hotel’s location is good geographically, but the room was awful. It wasn’t clean at all, the room's vivi was not good, and we went in summer with no air conditioner. The refrigerator didn’t work either, and there were no slippers for the bathroom or toilet. The hotel called a taxi and charged us 100 liras for the call, saying that was the taxi booking cost. I’m not satisfied at all. I’ll never go back, and I won’t recommend it to anyone.
