We booked without seeing the rooms, then decided to stay after a long trip because our bags were heavy. There's an online debate about whether this is even the backpackers hotel. The suite furniture clearly has had a lot of use and needs replacing. At least there was a kettle.

I couldn't find a way to get in: the door was locked, there was no phone number, and no directions or sign. I don't think this place exists anymore, since it doesn't show up on any platform. The hairdresser next door said it was still operating, while the grocery owner said it had closed. Neither knew how to contact the hostel.

As a solo female traveller, I felt really uncomfortable because the owner was very creepy. The room was dirty, with tissues and food on the floor, and the bed was so uncomfortable. It wasn't worth 400 lira for one night; I've stayed in much nicer places in other towns for 150. There are a few shops nearby, which was the only positive, but you can't cook in the “hostel” because the kitchen is filthy. The windows have big gaps, so bugs get in even when they're shut, and street noise is loud. Avoid this place.

It stays warm in every corner even during winter, and I really enjoyed my time here. The room was big, the bed comfortable, and the hostel super clean and well placed in the city center. I believe it's the first hostel in Eastern Turkey. Some staff were quite helpful. It'd be great to see more Kurdish culture in the hostel, though I was sorry that smoking is allowed in the reception area.

The dorms were 50 TL for six or eight people, and private rooms were available too. There's no breakfast, but the WiFi was good. Laundry cost an additional 10 TL, and the staff helped wash and dry my clothes. Lockers were in the room but didn't lock with a key, though everything felt calm and safe. There was hot water in the shower, and the hallways and rooms were nicely decorated. The friendly reception team and other staff spoke English. There's also a great café and terrace upstairs with games and shishas. A well-made hostel in a good location, exactly what you'd expect. I'd gladly stay again.
