Accom Hotel Sivas

This place feels more like a neglected motel than the 5-star hotel it claims to be. It's mostly empty and run-down, with little upkeep, and I wouldn't recommend it for more than a quick overnight stop if you're driving through town. The breakfast was poor, the coffee terrible, and I wasn't confident about how fresh some of the dairy products were. The manager was rude and didn't speak English, which made things harder for international guests. The carpets and furniture were stained, paint was peeling in the bathroom, the sink was rusty, and the whole property felt dusty and poorly maintained. Towels and bedding looked grey, washed out, and low quality. I stayed two days, and the location felt like the middle of nowhere, facing a gas station and a dead-end railway with nothing interesting nearby. For a hotel presented as five stars, it fell far short.

We were traveling by car with three kids and arrived at 2 AM on 27th Mar 2024. The hotel had agreed to a late checkout and breakfast until 12 PM, but when we went to the restaurant at 11:00, we were told it was closed. They wouldn't honor what they'd agreed to that morning. The manager then said we'd have to apologize for our mistake and sign a paper saying we'd woken up late before he would offer breakfast. I've traveled all over the world and had never heard a hotel manager say that. He was rude and impolite, and I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you're ready to apologize. What a joke. I called the head office in Istanbul, but they said they couldn't do anything about my complaint and their only solution was for me not to go to the hotel again. Thanks for the response. Your version of events and the tone of it show how hard you're trying to clear your name, and how you communicate with and treat guests. My family did contact reception about the request. They called the police after finding the restaurant closed, not for fun, but in response to your staff's rude behavior. The car wasn't something they were showing off about either. It came up after the manager commented on whether my family could afford breakfast outside the hotel. I'm sorry my family stayed there, and I should have taken the head office's advice not to return. My complaint wasn't simply about whether we got breakfast. It was about how you treated us and how you and the head office handled the complaint. You failed badly at that, whether you accept it or not.

Kind staff, a decent room, and good breakfast. I only lost a star because the booking and website said there was a pool, but when I went to swim I was told a pool cap was required. Customers should have been warned about that beforehand.

The hotel is generally clean and comfortable, and breakfast was okay, though the coffee could be better. Some of the dairy products didn't seem fresh. The pool and spa weren't available on Saturday morning for a reason that didn't work for us. We were told we could swim only from 10 to 10:30 am because a swimming class started at 10:30. That's not my problem. If the hotel advertises a pool and spa as part of a 5-star stay, they should be available to guests, not outsiders. The sauna wasn't available at all either. We were told to come back at 7 pm 😅
