Beyaz Köşk Hotel & Cafe

The room was shockingly dirty, and with no A/C or other way to cool it down, I couldn't sleep because of the heat. The refrigerator didn't work either. I paid a huge amount for one night and left very disappointed. I booked after reading all the positive reviews, which now feel completely misleading. I hope they sort these problems out, because the stay wasn't worth the price.

Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a large balcony looking out over Lake Van. It was spotless and nicely warm in early April, and the hotel sits right on the lakeside promenade. The family who run it gave us a lovely welcome, helped us get settled, and even invited us to join their family for the Ramadan fast-breaking dinner. The food was delicious.

Salih and the staff made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived, even though we didn't have a reservation. We had a clean, comfortable, spacious room, and the cafe's home-style cooking was delicious. The hotel is right by the lake with mountain views, in a quiet spot away from the main road. Several cafes are within walking distance, and the main road is just 4 blocks away. I'd definitely stay here again next time I'm in the area.

From my balcony I could watch the ferry pull in across the water, and the sitting area downstairs had books about Lake Van history. The staff gave me a lively, friendly welcome. The bed was very comfortable, with coffee, tea, a fridge, and a shower, though the shower leaked and flooded the floor. A towel was enough to slow the water. I hadn't expected much from Tatvan, so finding this lovely hotel was a real bonus. The town has more to offer than I thought, including lots of cafes along the promenade through the parkland.
