Ottoman Suites By Sera House

We had a great time at this charming hotel. The interior is unusual, the breakfast was excellent, and the service was too. It's in an excellent location, a perfect hotel for us.

Vedat, Gulsah and the rest of the team made me and the other guests feel like family. They were always around to help and happy to accommodate requests, so I felt looked after the whole time. The building is beautiful and peaceful, and it's conveniently located for reaching Uskudar port and the rest of Istanbul. This was my favourite stay in Istanbul, and I'm already looking forward to returning. I highly recommend it.

While I was recovering from surgery, the staff were helpful and accommodating from check-in through check-out. I couldn't physically get to the lovely cafe on site, so they brought my food to me. Gulsar was a wonderful host and took good care of me. The hotel is beautiful, spotless, and full of historic furnishings. You won't be disappointed.

We booked the suite for extra room to repack our two full suitcases of souvenirs on our last night in Istanbul, and wanted to spend one night on the Asian side. After checking in, showering, and unpacking, we went to the cafe for dinner at 8pm. Then the host insisted we move to another room right away because of a mistake, and wouldn't let us eat first or even comp dinner for the trouble. I went back upstairs to pack and found the email confirming we had the right room. The whole thing was incredibly stressful. I'm an MD and have travelled all over the world, and I can't recall a worse experience with a host. The host was disorganized and inconsiderate, and the bed and pillows were uncomfortable. It was loud, and the location was terrible. On the plus side, the place was quaint and clean, with breakfast included and a cafe on site. It might suit backpackers on a budget, but it's not ideal if you can afford to stay elsewhere.
