Hampton by Hilton Samsun

The dinner, beef and chicken döner if I remember right, was tasty and nicely prepared. Breakfast was above average too, with lots of choices and a lovely presentation. The room and shared areas were spotless, and the reception team, especially the night staff, were polite. The top-floor room was unusually spacious, had a classic look, and came with an iron, though there was no hairdryer. The hotel seems newly built and has a modern exterior. It is 12 km from the city center on the road toward Trabzon. The main problem was the air. The windows were sealed throughout the hotel, and the central cooling system didn't work properly. No matter how often I changed the panel settings or selected cooling, the room stayed at 24°C, uncomfortable in the warm weather. I called reception at 3 AM. They offered to move me but said the same issue would remain, so after a cold shower I slept in the bathtub, the only cool place. It made the room temperature panel seem pointless and confusing. If the ventilation stays like this, particularly in warmer months, staying here would be a mistake. In its current state I'd give it a solid three-star rating. I attached photos of the temperature to help management look into it. There was no one at the entrance to direct guests, which was awkward since I arrived by car. Nobody came with me to the room or helped with my bags, even when I asked. A handwritten number on the key card sent me to the wrong room, and I had to go back to reception twice to get it sorted.
