I stayed at Hotel Dedeman in Tokat for more than seven days. The location is very convenient, right in the city center, with a bus stop, supermarket, and restaurants across the street. The rooms are comfortable, and for the price the rooms and services are okay for a normal stay. Still, I can't give it five stars. It's advertised as a five-star hotel on social media, but the reception staff don't speak even basic English. I had an air-conditioning problem, and even with a translator they couldn't help. If you don't speak Turkish, it feels like they won't try to solve your problem. After more than seven hours without a solution, I asked my friend for help. The staff weren't sympathetic and even seemed upset. It's fine for location and basic comfort, but customer service is very limited if you don't speak Turkish.

For a hotel advertised as five-star, the conditions were really disappointing. Nobody on staff spoke any English, though guests come from all over and staff should know the basics. The pool area was dirty, the chair cushions were ripped, and the whole place felt sad. The Turkish bath was dirty too, and there wasn't even soap or towels. What's the use of a bath if you can't actually bathe? I wouldn't recommend coming for the activities.

The waiting staff were thoughtful, prompt, and courteous throughout my stay. Thanks especially to Başak, Fatma, Ömür, and the rest of their team for checking that I was comfortable and happy with the service. At reception, Hilal and the other staff were welcoming, kind, and well organised, and made me feel at ease as soon as I arrived. The room lights went out a few times, so I had to go back and forth to get them sorted. It was a small disruption, and I think it should be easy to fix. The team's hospitality and professionalism made up for it. I'd gladly return and recommend the hotel. Thanks to everyone for the care and hard work.
