The team made everything smooth, and they speak great English as well as being friendly and professional. I especially liked the food at the DoubleTree Hilton restaurant: the pizza, burger, and chicken wraps were among the best I’ve tried in Trabzon. Highly recommend it.

Ezgi Bıyıklı deserves a special mention for her kind, professional service. She helped make the stay more comfortable and memorable. I had a great time at DoubleTree by Hilton, with excellent service and a very friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Ms Kader was the bright spot for me. Even with the hotel busy and football and basketball teams there, she kept smiling, greeted me, and made sure I was served quickly and efficiently. Her customer service and communication were outstanding. She’s a real asset to the team and represented Hilton well. The rest of my experience was painful, though, and the hotel did nothing to make it right. I contacted the GM and management after a waiter shouted, “get out of here” at me. I felt it was because of my origin, despite being a Hilton Diamond member, and never received an apology. I was also left feeling inferior, perhaps because of my appearance or where I’m from. The captains sometimes ignored my requests for an omelet or a particular egg preparation and seemed to serve locals first. On some occasions I had to ask more than three times for an egg and was still ignored. As a Diamond member, I found this shocking and appalling. The staff, including the captains, didn’t treat me as a valued Hilton Diamond member. From the hotel’s social media pages, it seems the basketball and football players are the priority. It felt like Diamond members weren’t valued, and that shouting at or discriminating against them, even by keeping them from the restaurant, was acceptable. Ms Kader was the only shining light, but her kindness couldn’t make this experience acceptable. Thinking back on it still hurts. I won’t give this hotel any stars.

The room was spacious and clean, with a lovely sea view, and breakfast was delicious and nicely prepared. Check-in was delayed at first, but Osman and his team handled it professionally and got things back on track quickly. They also gave us a VIP welcome and complimentary breakfast for the whole stay as compensation, which made the experience much better.
