Grand Business Hotel

Everyone was so friendly, and I really enjoyed staying here. Everything was fine.

Even before check-in, things went badly. We arrived and were told our “sea view” room had not been booked and had been given to other guests. They said the hotel was full, but I showed them my booking.com reservation and confirmation number. When I wouldn’t accept a different room, the receptionist tried to bargain, offering me the same room I’d booked for 10 Euros less. That made the place feel untrustworthy. It seemed like they were trying to avoid the application commission by giving false information. The service looked poor, and the place didn’t seem worth the money. This is my reply to the owner’s comments: We could respect you and your hotel if you respected the customers paying to stay there. We could have respected you if you stopped treating your rooms like a “stock market” and giving them to whoever pays more. 👎

This was my first time visiting Tarabzon after a couple of trips to Turkey, mostly to Istanbol. The staff were all kind and friendly, especially Mr. Sina, who was very helpful and represented the hotel professionally. The hotel is small and clean, with rooms around 20/25m, like hotel rooms in Europe. It’s one of my target places because it’s close to Mydan area, shops, markets, and restaurants.

Breakfast wasn’t buffet style, and the food on offer was poor. The coffee was utterly disgusting. I also found leftover food in the fridge, which gave me no confidence in the cleanliness or hygiene. There were no warm blankets, just thin sheets that didn’t keep us warm, and the towels looked worn. The bathroom didn’t have a single towel hook. The promised “seaview” was mostly blocked by construction, with only a narrow glimpse of the sea in the distance. The room was tiny, with barely any room to move. Someone had covered the bed in fake rose petals and dry flowers when we arrived. It looked cute at first, but left crunchy bits and stains everywhere. The renovation seemed poorly done, with signs of neglect and dirty marks on the tap. This stay fell short of expectations, and the hotel doesn’t meet 3-star standards.
