Konak Park Hotel

A really bad stay. I couldn't control the AC easily, and the alarm went off several times during the night with no explanation or solution from hotel employees. The corridors leading to the elevator had no lights, and there were burns on the furniture. Very bad experience.

We stayed six nights with a large group, and the rooms varied a lot. Some were spacious, clean, and in very good shape, while others had problems. The hotel helped us switch rooms as best they could. Most staff were nice and helpful, though one person was rude and completely unhelpful. Hospitality really doesn't seem to suit him. The cleaning lady was respectful, and our rooms were cleaned regularly. The food was the biggest problem. It was gloomy in both preparation and presentation, basically the same thing each time, and seemed stale. A few of us got food poisoning, so we stopped eating there. Dinner is not worth the risk. The hotel feels poorly managed and maintained. Some rooms were surprisingly modern for a 3 start hotel, but even those had bathroom problems. Nearly all our rooms had some issue, usually with bathrooms, toilets, or internet. The lighting is ridiculous too: automatic timers cut out very quickly in the corridors and while waiting for the elevator, and you have to keep waving your arms overhead to get safely down the stairs. In the mornings and at night, a disgusting trash smell seems to get pushed into all the bathrooms, which also points to bad management. It's far from the city, though public transport costs less than 20 lira. It's a pity, because a few simple changes and more care with maintenance, planning, and management could make the hotel much better. Expect an okay 2-3 star hotel, which may be fine, but avoid the food.

Mohammed, the manager, was the best. He's very kind, speaks fluent English, helped sort out our problems, and gave us several options. Wishing him the best of luck. If you can, have breakfast somewhere else though 😁

We stayed four nights starting May 14, 2023. Reception was friendly, the rooms were ordinary, cleanliness was acceptable, and the internet worked well. Getting to the city center and main shopping centers takes a long time and costs money. The food was very poor. Dinner was usually cold and sometimes seemed to include leftovers from the day before. A few times breakfast came with old bread and food, and there wasn't much variety. Despite complaints from us and other travelers, the food quality never changed. In general, I can't recommend this hotel at all. The food was very bad and unacceptable for a hotel.
