Sunflower Otel

I’d think carefully before booking here. I was turned away at the border, an obvious force majeure and completely outside my control. The hotel didn’t respond to my messages or Booking.com’s requests for over a week. During that time, they silently marked me as checked in and charged the full amount. When they finally answered, all I got in the chat was a cold “all the best.” No assistance, refund, or sense of responsibility. They showed no respect for guests and didn’t seem customer-oriented. If something unexpected happens, don’t count on cooperation from them.

The rooms were clean, spacious, and excellent. Breakfast was good, and reception and the staff were friendly.

There was water leaking in the bathroom, some lights were out, and the safe was already locked. The room itself was dirty, with hair left behind by previous guests. They refused to clean it, saying they only clean once every two days, even though the mess was their fault. Reception was rude and barely spoke English.

The road was quite noisy, though I still managed to sleep after a tiring day of travel. There were huge flies all through the room and hallway. I called reception twice and asked for a swatter, but got no response either time. I ended up killing four while my baby children were sleeping, and there were still more. The owner seemed like a nice person, so I hope they don’t mind me sharing these issues. The kettle was full of coffee and hadn’t been serviced, but they gave me a clean one when I asked. The AC was very dusty and looked like it might have mold, since it hadn’t been cleaned. I got sick the next morning, and that may have been why.
