Grand Saroglu

The room service was the worst I’ve ever had, and the bathrooms flood when you shower. The air conditioner barely exists in practice, even though apparently there is one. Wifi is extremely slow and keeps dropping out. Most of the staff seemed unhappy and unhelpful, apart from the reception staff and bell boy. I also couldn’t use the fitness room because it was locked every time I tried.

I’ve never stayed at a better hotel. The rooms are amazing, and there’s a pool right next door. Five stars.

Ot Bar / Cafe inside the hotel is a charming extra, and the location is right in central Tunceli. The staff are friendly, the rooms are clean, and the food is good. The rooms do get too hot, though, and there are no towel hooks. Still, there wasn’t much to upset us during the stay. 😊

We stayed at the Şaroğlu Hotel for 3 nights, from 16.-19.7.2021, to meet our family in Tunceli. The staff were very friendly, and the room was okay, though there was no balcony. The bathroom isn’t suitable for older people: getting in and out of the bathtub, which has sliding doors, is difficult and slippery, and there’s almost nothing to hold on to. The hair dryer wasn’t working, so I called reception. I noticed a fuse had switched off, and after I fixed that, the dryer worked. I called reception again to let them know it was solved. Ordering a beer to the room was difficult too, because the man at reception didn’t understand what I wanted. I went down and got one at the bar. They charged 33 TL, which I found really expensive for Turkey and unfair to a guest. I don’t mind the price as such, but there was no service. Breakfast was included and served on the top floor. It was okay, nothing more, and you shouldn’t expect an international breakfast. We booked through otelfiyat expecting to pay 1236 TL, but at checkout the woman at reception said they wouldn’t accept otelfiyat’s price and charged us 1350 TL instead. I’ve never experienced anything like that in all my years of hotel stays. It may have been because it was high season and Corona had caused losses they needed to make back from tourists, but that’s just my guess. I wouldn’t exactly recommend staying here. If I could give minus stars, I would.
