Alados Otel

So quiet and peaceful, just lovely. Worth seeing, and a great place to enjoy your vacation.

The food was amazing.

The staff were kind and respectful, and the flatbreads were really good. Sadly, the rest of the food didn't do much for us, and the desserts were terrible. They seemed to use chickpeas with meat to keep meat portions down. We also found the advertised holiday didn't match what we experienced, which was disappointing. We stayed four nights, and getting water was a problem. There was just one dispenser for the whole hotel, so it never had cold water, and none was put on the tables at meals. The bar wasn't even replenished with water. Having a shortage of water on vacation felt absurd. The only other drink was a tank-style beverage we didn't like much. Tea was free, but nothing was said about charges for other drinks. We ordered a latte, signed the receipt, and were immediately charged 180 TL. When we said no one had told us the price, they wouldn't refund us. The same thing happened to a friend I met there, though he didn't pay. We couldn't understand charging for Turkish coffee either, especially at a hotel that wasn't particularly cheap. Tea also cost money in the live music area, even though it was free just two minutes away. Room cleaning was meant to happen every other day, but they only cleaned after we asked when two days had passed. When I checked out, I put my complaints in writing. The gentleman listened kindly and said he'd pass them along, but I understood he was the owner, so it felt like he was brushing me off and wouldn't take the criticism into account.

Our room was ready by 10 in the morning, and we had breakfast too. I've never known a hotel to check anyone in before 2 PM, wherever I've traveled. The food was superb and varied, with fresh bakery pita always available and free-range eggs at breakfast. The staff were attentive and cheerful, and even the two women cleaning our room helped as soon as we asked. Some staff carried luggage, and some rode horses, all of them kind and well-meaning. The welcome set the tone. The evening before we arrived, we spoke with someone called Ahmet, I think he was a gentleman, who offered us breakfast the next morning. His warmth earned the place an extra ten points from me right away. He also asked whether we wanted an upper or lower floor and was very helpful. Of course, there are a few shortcomings, but nobody's perfect. We'll definitely pick you again next time. Thanks so much, and wishing you continued success.
